Hand carved Welsh slate
Zentangle was carved whilst I was living in Brunei, during a period when I was experimenting with pattern and exploring how repeated forms could move across the surface of the stone.
The flowing design was inspired by Zentangle patterns, with each section individually carved by hand. I particularly love the way the pattern seems to dance across the surface, changing as the light catches the different carved edges.
The piece is carved from Welsh slate reclaimed from an old snooker table, giving this beautiful material an entirely new life.
Dimensions: 43 × 32 × 4.3 cm

Additional Information
Additional Information
Created using only a mallet and chisel this carved stone plaque is ideal for hanging on a wall.
It has a metal bracket fixed into the back of the stone and comes with a corresponding bracket to screw into the wall.
Once your wall bracket is level and secure the stone can be lowered on top of it so the two brackets connect.
