Proportion
Proportion is hand carved in Portland limestone and draws on a possible Roman system for proportioning letterforms, explored by Tom Perkins.
I adapted the geometric matrix to highlight the relationship between positive and negative space, with sections of the carving picked out in gold to emphasise the underlying geometry.
Dimensions: 30 × 30 × 5 cm
Material: Portland limestone and gold paint

Additional Information
Created using only a mallet and chisel this carved stone plaque is ideal for hanging on a wall.
It has a metal bracket fixed into the back of the stone and comes with a corresponding bracket to screw into the wall.
Once your wall bracket is level and secure the stone can be lowered on top of it so the two brackets connect.

Why Geometry?
After working with stone for over 10yrs Zoë discovered a passion for hand carving geometric patterns into British stone. Please click the link below to read more about why she loves carving geometry.
