Fuse

Fuse

Fuse is hand carved in Welsh slate reclaimed from an old snooker table and was created as an experiment with inlay.

I filled areas of the carving with resin mixed with metal powder, which was then polished to create a silver finish. I loved the contrast of the silver against the dark slate and the way the inlay brought the individual carved sections together to create a larger image.

This is the only piece I made using this technique.
