The original of this cast was hand carved in a beautiful piece of Welsh slate.

Prior to carving this piece Zoë's ideas had been generated from existing patterns and objects noticed in day-to-day life. Due to Covid lockdown, those new experiences were removed, Zoë had to reconsider how to generate ideas.

She discovered a weekly online geometry drawing class given by the School of Traditional Arts. The classes gave her the skills to be able to play with geometric patterns, allowing ideas to develop naturally.

Breath was the first carving designed by this new process. For Zoë it was literally a Breath of fresh air and also a moment to take a Breath from Covid concerns. This piece holds significant importance in the development of Zoë's work.

Larger jesmonite casts are shipped in purpose built, foam lined, wooden shipping crates to ensure they arrive with you in perfect condition.

Smaller pieces are shipped in cardboard boxes.

They are individually are hand made to order, so reasonable shipping times have been given.

Additional Information

Cast in Jesmonite, a mixture of resin and gypsum, these beautiful casts pick up all the fine detail of the chisel marks seen in the original carving.

Each one is signed and has the edition number.

Wall pieces have have two simple fixings in the back allowing them to be easily hung on screws in the wall.
