Carving Courses

Learn How to Carve Stone

Zoë has been working with stone for over 15yrs. She’s worked as an architectural stone mason, letter carver, restoration carver and sculptor, giving her a breadth of knowledge ideal for teaching. She has an infectious passion for her craft, which inspires students and helps them gain the most possible from their time learning.

Whilst on her masonry apprenticeship Zoë spent her free time rowing, competing nationally. She went on to Coach rowing at Shrewsbruy School and her local boat club.
Teaching all ages, Zoë loved coaching the sport and found seeing her students progress very rewarding. Zoë has found a similar passion for teaching carving and has been able to implement the coaching skills she learnt.

Keen to promote her craft to the widest audience possible and facilitate learning across the world Zoë offers both in person and online courses. Please continue reading to see which suits you best.

Studio Workshops

Zoë teaches in person stone carving course from her studio in Hampshire. The courses vary from a half day for families through to an entire weekend.

She is passionate about her craft and loves to pass on her skills to her students. The courses are great for families, groups, couples or individuals, they also make wonderful presents.

Zoë provides all the tools and stone, she also has carving kits available for you to buy and take home if you want to carry on practicing!

There are no dates currently available, but more will be coming soon. Please leave your details below to be put on the course waiting list and be the first to know when more dates are released.

You’ll have a number of training exercises before working on your final project.

Lunch is provided either as a picnic by the Test river during the summer months or in the orangery of Houghton Lodge in the winter. There is an excellent pub in the village for a post carving drink and an evening meal where Zoë will no doubt join you!
